Leather Cleaner. Lexol made it's reputation in the Equestrian industry. Now, they know leather. What works so well on the range does a beautiful job on car leather too. Occasionally use before Lexol Leather Conditioner first to not only clean but to clear out the pores of the leather (remember it used to be skin) so the Conditioner can work better.

You should clean & Condition your leather regularily. You can bring back any leather that is not cracked but ... why wait? Summers demand more frequent treatments than winters do. The extreme exposure of an open car will demand more than a coupe or sedan. In any case, when the leather doesn't feel supply like YOUR skin, get out the Lexol.

Leather Cleaner

Product Characteristics:

The carefully balanced formula falls within the pH range of leather, which makes it safer for leather. The alkaline-free formula contributes to the life of your leather.
It is concentrated, so it cleans effectively with a considerably smaller quantity of product.
The foaming action penetrates the pores of leather to lift and suspend dirt and oils. These contaminants are then easily wiped away.
It is purely a cleaner. It contains no waxes, oils or additives that can interfere with its cleaning action or cause dirt to become trapped in the leather.
It rinses easily, leaving leather healthy, supple and able to breathe.
It contains no harsh ingredients that can damage, discolor or dull leather.

Directions for use:

Clean one manageable section of the interior at a time. For example, with bucket seats, clean the seat back, and then move on to the seat cushion, and so forth.

Test small inconspicuous area first.
Apply a small amount of cleaner to a clean, wet Lexol applicator sponge or cloth.
Rub gently into leather to work up lather.
Use a clean damp cloth or sponge to wipe away foam and dirt. Towel dry.
Follow with Lexol Leather Conditioner.

Not recommended for suede, extremely soft leather or other non-leather surfaces.

What about Saddle Soap?

Cleaning with saddle soap can work dirt into the leather where it can become trapped by the saddle soap’s own lubricants. Rinsing may not remove all of the deposited soap, dirt and oil, so buildup can occur, subjecting the leather to the harsh effects of saddle soap’s alkalinity.
Saddle soaps also contain oils to condition the leather, so the soap is trying to remove dirt & oils while supplying it's own oils at the same time. Huh? It's best to get the cleaning out of the way Before you try to condition.
Saddle soap is alkaline to clean effectively but it's this alkalinity that is always harmful to leather. So cleaning leather with saddle soap exposes the leather to harsh alkalinity who's effects can include: graying, discoloration or staining of light colored leathers, loss of vital tanning agents, cracking of the grain surface and other signs of deterioration.
